Nach 22:00 Uhr darf man nicht laut fernsehen oder Musik hören. Das könnte die Nachbarn stören. Wenn das nicht eingehalten wird, kann auch die Polizei gerufen werden. Manche Bereiche in der Wohnanlage sind allgemeine Bereiche, also für alle Personen da (z.B. das Stiegenhaus, der Dachboden, der Hof usw.). Man sollte immer auch an die anderen Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner denken und diese Bereiche sauber halten. Wenn man etwas am Haus kaputt macht, dann haftet man dafür. Das bedeutet, man muss den Schaden bezahlen. Fahrräder, Möbel oder andere Dinge darf man nicht in den Gang stellen. |
A few examples of typical house rules:
Turn down the music or the volume on your TV set by 10 p.m. Loud noise after this time might disturb your neighbours. If this rule is not observed, others may call the police. Some areas in an apartment complex are shared space, i.e. they are used by all residents (this includes, for instance, corridors and staircases, the attic, courtyard areas, etc.). Be considerate of other residents and always keep these areas clean and tidy. Those who damage something in or on the building are held liable for the damage caused, i.e. they must pay for the damage. Bicycles, furniture or other objects must not be left in the corridor. |

Benzinfahrzeuge (Mopeds, Motorräder) darf man auch nicht im Keller oder im Stiegenhaus abstellen. Das ist wichtig. Wenn es zu einem Feuer kommt, müssen alle Personen schnell aus dem Haus flüchten können. Rauchen ist in den allgemeinen Bereichen verboten. In manchen Wohnanlagen sind Haustiere erlaubt. Das steht dann im Mietvertrag oder in der Hausordnung. |
Petrol-powered vehicles (mopeds, motor bikes) must not be parked in the cellar or the hallway. This is very important. If a fire breaks out, everybody in the house must be able to escape quickly. Smoking is forbidden in shared space In some residential complexes pets are permitted. Whether keeping pets is permitted or not is defined in the rental agreement or in the house rules. |
